Asus might be working on the successor to its budget offering ZenFone Go. An Asus device bearing model number X015D has been spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench, hinting that the company is preparing to release this device.
Asus launched ZenFone Go (X014D) two years back and it was high-time the company upgraded this line with a new launch. That should happen soon as the GFXBench listing shows the upcoming ZenFone Go 2 phone running Android 7.0 Nougat, which is so refreshing from the Android Lollipop we have been seeing on its predecessor.
Other ZenFone Go 2 specs revealed by GFXBench listing are a 5.5 inch HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution and an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. This is paired with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. In comparison, Asus Zenfone Go was equipped with 5-inch display and 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor.

The RAM and storage option has also been upgraded in the new Asus phone from 2GB and 8GB/16GB to 3GB and 32GB. While ZenFone Go featured a 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front shooter, its successor will retain the 8MP rear camera and get an upgraded 5MP selfie shooter. Notably, ZenFone Go was a dual SIM phone, but the GFXBench listing shows ZenFone Go 2 carrying a single SIM.
