Sony’s CES 2015 was henld on January 5th, but the company didn’t shared any details on its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4. Sony is keeping the info on Xperia Z4 as tight as possible, but you really can’t stop the rumor mill. A Taiwanese source has reported the Xperia Z4 to come in both Quad HD and FHD variants, where the Quad HD will be heading to USA.

It isn’t clear yet if Sony will release both the variants alongside in all the market Xperia Z4 releases, or if these variants will head only to specific regions. Or Sony could also be offering more with the Quad HD variant like a 4GB RAM and stuff and sell it as a premium variant of the device.

The display size of Xperia Z4 is rumored to be 5.2 inch for the FHD variant. If Sony is indeed planning to bring a Quad HD display, then it’s most likely going to be with a bigger display, 5.5 inch or more. And that makes sense, as all of Sony’s competitive devices are going to be larger in 2015 because the rival of all these flagship Android devices, the iPhone, now comes with a 5.5 inch display size. And to combat that all major OEMs are putting at-least one device at that screen size.

Even Motorola has launched the Moto X Pro, a 6-inch Moto X version of the Nexus 6. 2015 will be the year of bigger smartphones, be it budget phones or premium ones.
