Sony is rolling out a new firmware update to Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance devices. The update brings Android 7.1.1 Nougat to both the devices and is being rolled out over the air.
The Android 7.1.1 firmware update arrives to Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ as build number 41.2.A.2.199. It also installs the April security patch on both the smartphones.

And as is the usual case, the update also tags along system improvements and regular bug fixes. As this is an OTA roll out, it will happen in phases and as such not everyone will get it instantly. Some users may see the update notification in a few days or even a week.
However, if the news has got you too excited and you are too impatient to wait, you can check for it right away. All you need to do is head over to Settings > About device > System updates. Before hitting the download button, connect your Sony device to a WiFi network and get it sufficiently charged. This will ensure seamless installation of the Android 7.1.1 update.

Always happy to see new phones being upgraded to nougat. Better late than never. Though for me, xperia xz flew right under the radar. I have heard and read very little about it
