A new over the air update to firmware version 6.1.A.2.55 is now rolling out to the Sony Xperia S in Singapore, though it seems to be a minor update as Sony hasn’t announced it. There is a new baseband version though, but that’s about all the changes people have noticed till now.
Also, those looking to root the phone after updating to the new version can use the Bin4ry root tool, which is reported to be working by some users.
If you haven’t received the update yet, don’t forget to do a manual check by heading to the Settings » About phone » Software update menu. And if you’ve already running on the new updated version, do let us know if you notice any changes or new features.
