Sony has been keeping busy with the Nougat update for the Xperia XZ. As can be seen from the screenshot above, the update brings the ability to change fonts on the device, a feature which we think we will be available for all Sony devices with the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.
On Sony’s Nougat update, if you head to Settings > Display, you see an option to change font. It seems right now the choice is limited between just two fonts, but we expect more fonts to be added later on, even stable release if you want.
This isn’t anything new to the Android scene, as Samsung has been offering this with TouchWiz for long, long time now. There isn’t any info on whether you’ll be able to download and use any font of your choice, or if it work only with pre-loaded set of fonts. Nevertheless, it is a welcome change to see new functionality put into the Nougat build on Xperia phones.
Sony has been beta testing the Xperia X Performance with the Nougat beta update and with the Concept for Android for a while now. The Xperia XZ is also expected to see the beta for Nougat out soon most probably by November end or by early December at the most.
