Exciting times these are for fans of Google’s Nexus devices! Pictures of a Sony device going by the name Sony Nexus X have surfaced on Picasa, and we could be looking at Sony’s version of the Nexus, which if real would confirm the rumors of multiple Nexus devices being in the works.

We already saw specs of the Sony “Yuga” get leaked, which is rumored to be Sony’s Nexus device and sports a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor similar to the LG Nexus 4, and it makes sense as Google would want to use the same chipset across every Nexus device. Also, there are two factors that point towards the “Nexus X” in the pictures being a Nexus device – no logos on the front of the device, and stock Android running on the phone, including the stock on-screen virtual buttons.

One thing to note is that the back of the device says “Google” instead of “with Google” unlike the Nexus 4, which could either mean that the final text could change on either device, or the Nexus X will be the main Nexus device, or something else entirely, including not being a Nexus device at all. What I do know is that I want this to be very real, as multiple Nexus devices will be a dream come true for every Nexus as well as many Android fans out there.

Am I the only one who can’t wait for the Google event on 29th, where they will supposedly unveil info about the next Nexus devices as well as Android 4.2? Not to mention that we could also see the LG Nexus 4 get released on the very same day. Come on Google, give us some official info already!

Update: According to Android and Me, their “Photoshop expert” says that the photos are fake, as a halo around the words Google on the back of the device is noticeable by zooming in on the photo, and I myself noticed a kind of haze around “Google” (though my eyes are known to play tricks on me). Well, there go our happy thoughts down the drain.
