Sony’s handsets are known as much for their looks as for the specs on offer, often turning out to be trend setters. That’s why we weren’t too surprised when we heard about an upcoming device from the company that will be completely bezel-less from the sides.

Christened “Lavender” — which hopefully is not the name the device will be released under — pictures of the device were recently uploaded via a leakster account on twitter and as can be seen below, the device is bezel free.

While not the first manufacturer to come up with the bright idea of removing bezels — Xiaomi, ZTE are but a couple who have already done that — this would be the first Sony phone going bezel less.

The device will apparently use a 64 bit MediaTek MT6752 chipset which runs a 2GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 along with a Mali-T760 GPU and is said to be coming with an integrated LTE modem, a back camera of unspecified resolution with LED flash and a 1080p screen resolution.

While we do not have any info on the specs, price and release date of the device at this point, these photos do point towards an official announcement in the near neighbourhood.

Stay Tuned!
