Replying to a user’s query about the Android update, SE let it know to us that they planning to upgrade the Xperia Arc from Android 2.3.2 — that’s what it launched with — to Android 2.3.3, the latest version of Android OS currently available, pretty soon. All that SE official guy, Markus would say is that the company is planning pretty fast — we don’t how does that measure days-wise but if you ask us, think of April end and more probably, mid-May. And yes, it would have been much better to hear “working” in place of “planning” pretty fast, ahem!

This may sound just an addition of 0.0.1 to some of you but to those who still doubt the outfit for not supporting its phones (*cough* X10) via timely software updates, this is something that will perhaps change your view.

Sony Ericsson earlier announced that it will be upgrading even X10 to Android 2.3 — skipping Android 2.2 Froyo completely — sometime in Q3. But it looks like many of its potential customers still don’t know or don’t believe the new updates-committed-SE. Anyways, we think the Android OS updates won’t be a problem with the latest devices of SE — Arc, Neo, Play, etc. — as the company seems to have learned it lessons, totally!

What do you think?

BTW, SE guys are doing everything to entice the users — even helping unlocking the bootloader of its Arcs, Neos and Play handsets. You gotta believe the company, okay!
