Singapore to get Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in Q2

Although Samsung has started rolling out the Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in several regions, Singapore is yet to get the update. And it looks like folks may have to wait quite some time to get the update.

This report should be taken with a pinch of salt. A customer contacted Samsung via LiveChat and a customer care representative responded to a question about the Nougat update. According to the rep, the Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge can be expected between April and June.

Now that’s a very rough time-frame, almost a span of two months. We believe that the rep either doesn’t really know or doesn’t want to give out an exact date. Whatever the case, the update is coming. Perhaps Samsung needs more time to test the build in Singapore. The carrier locked variants of the smartphones are also yet to get the update.

The Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has been released for most of the world. If you cannot wait, you can download the firmware and flash it manually. However, it is recommended to wait for the official update, if you’re in Singapore.
