Samsung’s priority for Galaxy S9 is to improve processor and camera performance: Report

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 smartphone is going to be crucial to the company. The phone has to compete with the iPhone X from Apple, which has currently taken the world by storm. As per a new report, Samsung’s main focus with the S9 is to improve the processor and deliver the best smartphone camera.

According to all the rumors, Samsung will most likely announce the Galaxy S9 in January or February next year. That’s about three months from now, but we haven’t seen any solid leaks of the device yet. It was the similar last year as well, as the company has become very good at keeping the leaks at bay.

We know that the Galaxy S9 would feature the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset and improved internals. It is also pretty much guaranteed that the S9 would have an Infinity display, probably with higher resolution than what we currently get.

Samsung also recently unveiled the new Exynos 9810 chipset, which has a new CPU and GPU. It is still built using a 10nm process, but this is 2nd gen. The international variants of the S9 would feature this chipset. The Exynos 9810 also has the latest modem, a Cat. 18 6CA, which has 6 carriers for superb network performance.

Then there’s the new ISOCELL Slim 2X7 camera sensor that Samsung announced last month. It features a 24MP lens with some new tech that would provide better low-light photos and more. We will most likely see dual cameras on the S9, as seen on the Galaxy Note 8.

The report also states that the camera module will not protrude out of the back, and that the S9 would be thinner. Samsung may also retain the headphone jack, which most phones are letting go of. It is also believed that the S9 would get a display with an in-built sensor, but another report says that Samsung may hold off that tech for the Galaxy Note 9.
