The Samsung Stratosphere 2, successor to the original Stratosphere for Verizon had been rumored for quite some time, and was later confirmed to be real thanks to a leaked equipment guide, though no official announcements have yet been made. However, it seems that the release date of the Stratosphere 2 might be getting nearer, as it has just passed certification at the GCF.

The only details currently known about the Stratosphere 2 are that it will sport a QWERTY keyboard, 4″ Super AMOLED display, and 4G LTE connectivity, though we can expect a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, a 5 megapixel camera, and Android 4.0 to be included as well, as is the norm with such LTE-enabled mid-range devices.

As the holiday season inches closer, an official announcement should be incoming for the Stratosphere 2 (as well as other rumored upcoming devices), so expect some more details on this QWERTY smartphone soon.
