Samsung has reportedly files a lawsuit against Sharp claiming 600 billion won in damages, for the latter failing to supply LCD panels to Samsung as per the contract.
It’s being said that Sharp had agreed to supply Samsung for LCD panels, which the Korean giant had planned for use in its TV sets. Now, with Sharp not supplying those display panels — approx 6 million units — Samsung finds itself in trouble, as they has also stopped production of 40-inch S-LCD panels which it was producing in partnership with Sony.
The actual amount of the damages is 578 billion won, which translates into 492 million US dollars.
Samsung is taking strong action against those keeping up their promise, an stance which has seen Kuroda Electric, another Japanese company, been taken to International Chamber of Commerce, too.
Samsung has recently launched two news sets in its Galaxy C series, dubbed C7 Pro and C5 Pro, while it’s expected to unveil the Galaxy S8 on March 29, followed by April release. Find the rumored Galaxy S8 specs here.
On the software front, Galaxy S7 Nougat update along with that of Galaxy S7 Edge of course, was release, which became first Samsung Android 7.0 release, with the likes of Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5 next in line.
