For those who are waiting to grab the Samsung’s latest offerings – Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, here is exciting news. Samsung has started sending media invites for an event to be held in New Delhi on March 23. At the event, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be launched.
Samsung has already announced that the handsets will on sale across the global markets from April 10. Hence, it is believed that Samsung will start accepting pre-orders in the country from the next week. Anyways, an official confirmation from Samsung regarding the same is pending.
After many criticisms for the use of polycarbonate build on its high-end flagship models and same iteration of TouchWiz UI, Samsung has revamped its UI with new aspects and no bloatware. Also, the firm has used metal to build its latest flagship devices adding a more premium look to them. But, the firm has landed up in some sacrifices to make these possible and the notable ones are the lack of micro SD card slot and removable battery.
To refresh on the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, they are identical in terms of specifications expect for the use of dual edged displays on the Edge variant and a slightly higher 2,600 mAh battery in it as compared to the 2,550 mAh battery in the Galaxy S6, both with Ultra Power Saving Mode and wireless charging support.
Both the smartphones flaunt a 5.1 inch Quad HD 1440p display and arrive with 64 bit Exynos 7420 octa core processor backed by 3 GB of RAM. They are available in three variants – 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of storage space that cannot be expanded further.
The devices are bestowed with a 16 MP main snapper at their back with OIS and other impressive aspects. Up front, they have a 5 MP selfie snapper as well. Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and they are layered with the revamped TouchWiz UI as mentioned above.
