Expanding its mobile-payment service globally, Samsung has officially released the Samsung Pay in Thailand.
Commenting on the launch, Wichai Pornpratang, vice president of Samsung’s Thai unit, said, ‘We hope that Samsung Pay will play a big role in transforming Thailand in line with its national e-payment strategy.’
Thailand being a tourist hub, this launch hopefully ‘will revolutionize Thais’ way of spending and usher them towards a cashless society.’
Samsung Pay has already made its way into the United States, China, Spain, Australia, Singapore and Brazil.

Meanwhile, the launch of a stripped down version of Samsung Pay named Samsung Pay Mini for Android-powered smartphones is awaited and likely to take place in Q1. A pre-launch trial for the same has started in Korea.
