Samsung Nougat release anticipated as Smart Switch app updated with that effect

Here’s some more proof that tells that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Android Nougat update is imminent. And that’s over what we shared earlier, that thanks to Vodafone Australia, we know that Samsung is testing the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat release on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Now, Samsung has also updated the Smart Switch mobile app, that comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, with support for Android N. You can see in the above image that the latest version, released yesterday, has added support for N OS. The update also includes support for iCloud on iOS 9 or later, and Windows Mobile OS 10.

Samsung is supposed to release the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge by the end of December.

This app update and recent leaks only reaffirm that we will soon see the Nougat update. The company is under immense pressure, as there’s only about 2 weeks remaining till the end of this year.

  1. Samsung makes, in my humble opinion, great looking hardware.

Yet it’s their obvious disinterest for keeping it’s devices’ software updated which makes me step back. The fact a carrier is able to update their device before they update is themselves is ridiculous.
