Looks the days of foldable Android phones are all set to arrive come 2017. A report from The Investor says that both the Korean tech giants, LG and Samsung, plan to release a smartphone each in 2017, that will be foldable. Yup, f-o-l-d-a-b-l-e!
The report comes from Hyundai securities analyst, Kim Dong-won, who also says in the report that Google and Apple will try their hand on foldable display (and body) too, in the next to next year, 2018.
This is not the first time we’re hearing about possibility of foldable smartphone from Samsung, as their mobile chief Koh Dong-jin had dropped the hint earlier too.

This will be made possible by some admirable work from display arms of both LG and Samsung. Both LG Display and Samsung Display will start manufacturing 6th Gen flexible OLED panels in the 2nd half of year 2017, which shall pave the way for the new foldable phones from LG and Samsung.
The report continues with forecasting the domination by these two display companies for the next three years in display industry, until more companies get to learn the tech and bring it into production.

Earlier today, Samsung started delivering the Android 7.0 Nougat beta OTA on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge sets in Korea, while yesterday, LG G5 Nougat update was released in the same country, although LG pushed the final release, while Samsung is still making do with beta release.
