Samsung has been rolling out Android 9 Pie updates to eligible devices since late last year. However, only smartphone and tablet users have been catered for. Today, the same update is finally rolling out to its eligible wearables namely Samsung Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 and Gear Sport.

On top of the new One UI that runs on top of Pie, the new firmware also introduces a number of new features and improvements to the wearables. As part of the Galaxy Watch Active, which has the new UI out of the box, Samsung also introduced new watch faces.

As part of the update to Pie, the Galaxy Watch, Gear S3, and Gear Sport are also receiving these watch faces. In addition, improvements to workout such as a profile for outdoor swimming and sleep tracking have been included.

Like other devices receiving the One UI, the three wearables also get a refreshed settings menu after the latest update. It’s also possible to toggle sleep mode on/off and as always, you can expect improved battery life and general performance.

For those using the Watch, the update is arriving as version R800XXU1CSE1 while the Gear S3 is receiving it as version R760XXU2ESE3 and as for the Gear Sport, watch out for version R600XXU1CSE2.
