Samsung next flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 is rumored to come with an AI assistant which we till now knew by the name of Bixby. This may not be the case, or can we say, this may not be the name of Samsung’s AI assistant. The tech firm has filed a trademark with the European Intellectual Property Office for Samsung Hello, which very well, could be the official and final name for Bixby.

As per the trademark filing, Samsung Hello is a ‘software that enable block users or computers and mobile devices to access, aggregate, organize and interact with content, information and images and topics of general interest to such users.’

The filing further describes that the application software of Samsung Hello also ‘gives personalized features and information based on user’s preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition.’

Undoubtedly all these descriptions point towards Samsung Hello being an AI Voice assistant.
Now, it is highly unlikely that Samsung will launch a new AI assistant when Bixby already exists, and has not been commercial yet. This leaves us with one conclusion, and logical one as well. That Samsung Hello should be the final and official name of Bixby.
