Back in the last month, Samsung showcased a couple of new tablets – Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus in Russia. Now, the firm has confirmed it officially that the latter will be made available in the European markets from May. To be specific, the Germany market will be the first one to receive the tablet and it will be called Galaxy Tab A.
When it comes to specifications, the Galaxy Tab A will boast of a 9.7 inch display packing a low resolution of 1024×768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3. The device will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and its display will enable users to browse the web, read e-books and go though emails conveniently.
Under its hood, the Galaxy Tab A will make use of a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage space. A 6,000 mAh battery will power the slate and it will have a 2 MP selfie snapper at the front and a 5 MP shooter at its rear.
The Galaxy Tab A will arrive in two versions – one with Wi-Fi and the other with LTE. The latter will boast of 2 GB of RAM instead of 1.5 GB of RAM in the Wi-Fi variant. The Wi-Fi variant will be priced at €299 and the LTE model will cost €349 in Germany.
A variant of the Galaxy Tab A with S Pen stylus as in the Galaxy Note lineup will be made available in May in Netherlands for a pricing of €349 for the Wi-Fi only version. As of now, there is no word regarding the global availability of the Galaxy Tab A device and we have to wait for Samsung to announce the same.
