Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ at Verizon receive June security patches, May patches for LG V20

Verizon users of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are receiving new updates that install this month’s security patches alongside plenty of unnamed bugs and system optimizations.

The update on the Galaxy S9 carries software version G960USQS2ARF4 and for those using the Galaxy S9+, the update has software version G965USQS2ARF4. Of course, these updates are airborne and will take time before they hit the respective S9 units.

There’s always the option to wait for the OTA notification, but you can also skip the wait and force the update via Settings > About phone menu, but be sure to connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network before going this direction.

For those using the 2016 LG V20 on the same carrier, there’s also something for you in the form of May 2018 security patch. The update carries software version VS9951CA and is also rolling out over the air, which means you may have to wait for it until next week.
