Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Specs leaks, Quad HD display in tow

Yesterday we reported Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge making an official appearance with support pages going live for both the devices at Samsung’s Finland website. However, the pages only displayed model numbers of the two devices, leaving us out of any other interesting info. But, at-least, it confirmed that SM-G920 and SM-G925 are model numbers of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, as rumored previously.

Now the SM-G925W8 model number is spotted at AnTuTu benchmarks database, and we know that it’s the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Galaxy S6 Edge Benchmark

Galaxy S6 Edge specs from the AnTuTu benchmarks result shows the device is powered by a Samsung Exynos 7420 processor coupled with Mali T760 GPU and 3GB RAM. The display on S6 Edge will be 5.1 inches with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution. As for the camera, the device will pack a 20MP camera on its rear with a 5MP selfie shooter on the front.

The Exynos 7420 processor at play here has scored a whooping score of 60978 in AnTuTu benchmarks — outplaying every other processor on the market, even Qualcomm’s latest beast Snapdragon 810 processor which we’ll see in a number of flagship devices from other manufacturers this year.

For a detailed comparison of Exynos 7420 under Samsung’s own domain, the previous best Exynos 5433 that powers the Galaxy Note 4, check out the chart below:

Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are set to release next month at Samsung Unpacked 2015 event. Also, Galaxy S6 should posses the same specs as Galaxy S6 Edge since the only difference between the two devices will be the Edge screens on both sides of S6 Edge. We expect the innards of the two devices to largely stay the same, but knowing Samsung, it might just happen that the Korean electronics giant decides to play premium with the Galaxy S6 Edge, you know what I mean.
