There has been a lot of talk, leaks and speculation over the past few weeks, around a mini-version of the Samsung Galaxy S3. We had posted about rumoured specs and an official announcement to be held on Oct 11th. Well, the cat is out of the bag, a day before this announcement, and that too, right from the horse’s mouth.
Samsung Mobile President JK Shin, confirmed earlier today, that Samsung would be launching the Galaxy 3 Mini tomorrow. He also indicated, that though the device is a “mini”, it won’t be found wanting on specifications and features. This ties in nicely with the “something small” in the Galaxy family theme in the invites for the event (check link above).
Rumour has it, that Samsung will offer the Galaxy S3 Mini in 2 colors; Ceramic White and Metallic Blue. It is said that it will have a 4″ sAMOLED display, a 5 Megapixel camera and a dual-core processor. There is a demand, especially in and around Europe, for high-spec devices with a compact form factor, and this could well be that star.
All we can say, is that if the Galaxy S3 being such an awesome device, its kid brother will only live up to the family name. After all the apple (pun not intended) doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
