[T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular too] AT&T to launch a new Galaxy J7 (2018) soon as model SM-J737A with Oreo pre-installed

AT&T Galaxy J7 2018

Samsung usually sells different models of the Galaxy J series in the U.S. compared to the rest of the world. We recently saw T-Mobile’s 2018 variant of the Galaxy J3 pop up on the Wi-Fi Alliance and as of this writing, there’s a new AT&T-bound Galaxy J7 2018 getting ready for launch.

This year’s global Galaxy J7 is expected to ship with model number SM-J740, up from SM-J730 used on the J7 2017, however, those in the U.S. will get a Galaxy J7 2018 handset with model number SM-J737, up from SM-J727 used on the country’s J7 2017.

Folks on AT&T can expect a Galaxy J7 2018 with model number SM-J737A and as per the listing on the Wi-Fi Alliance, the device will be powered by Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Other than the OS and model number, we don’t have much on the upcoming Galaxy J7 2018, but more details should start coming in sooner than later.

April 13: T-Mobile to launch Galaxy J7 2018 as model SM-J737T

T-Mobile Galaxy J7 2018

Joining AT&T in the race to release the Galaxy J7 2018 in the U.S. soon is T-Mobile. A device with model number SM-J737T, which is definitely meant for T-Mobile and is without a doubt a variant of the Galaxy J7 2018, has cleared Wi-Fi Alliance with Android 8.0 Oreo on board.

Like the case with AT&T a while back, there isn’t much we can gather from the latest development, but it does prove that the Galaxy J7 2018 is coming to the U.S. soon.

April 18: Verizon and Sprint variants cleared for release, too

Galaxy J7 2018After AT&T and T-Mobile, we can also confirm that the Galaxy J7 2018 is coming to Verizon Wireless and Sprint with model numbers SM-J737V and SM-J737P. Like their counterparts, you also get Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, but the rest of the details remain mostly unknown.

April 30: More variants cleared by WFA

More variants of the Galaxy J7 2018 have stopped by the Wi-Fi Alliance, adding more weight to the speculation that the handset’s launch is almost here.

In addition to the various variants (SM-J737A, SM-J737T, SM-J737P, and SM-J737V) cleared by the WFA, the same platform has also given an OK to more variants heading to the U.S. The new models cleared have numbers SM-J737VPP, SM-J737VL, SM-J737R4, and SM-J737S and like their counterparts, they have Android 8.0 Oreo running the show out of the box.

Even though we expect all variants of the Galaxy J7 2018 (SM-J737) to sport the same design, specs, and features, we still don’t know much about these details. Hopefully, not for long!

We’ll keep you up to date!
