It’s no secret Samsung is preparing to launch its second Android Go phone, the Galaxy J4 Core. Well, while we wait on that, the phone has leaked in full with specifications and pictures via Brazilian online store Colombo.
As expected, the J4 Core does bring some improvements over the J2 Core, Samsung’s first Android Go device. Starting with the display which has been upgraded from a 5-inch one to a spacious 6-inch panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. The resolution is still pretty low at 720 x 1480 pixels.

Under the hood, there’s the same 1.4GHz quad-core CPU that also powered the J2 Core. But the processor is backed up by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage instead of just 8GB. Samsung also throws in a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB.
In the photo department, the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core enjoys the services of an 8MP camera on the back (with f/2.) and a 5MP selfie snapper.
We’re also seeing a big improvement when it comes to battery. The J2 Core has a 2,600 mAh one, but the J4 Core will feature a 3,300 mAh power source.
The phone will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and will be available for purchase in Black, Blue and Copper. The Brazilian website makes no mention of a shipping date.
