Multiple variants of the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro have been cleared to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update by the Wi-Fi Alliance, implying that the official rollout should commence in the next few weeks.
History tells us that once a device makes a stop by the WFA, we can only wait for at least two weeks before the OS begins rolling out, but of course, nothing can ever be certain with software updates timelines. Besides, ours is just a hunch.
It’s worth noting that a month ago, reports from China claimed that the Galaxy C9 Pro would begin beta testing Android Oreo in June and indeed, it seems the progress is good now that the device’s certification has been approved.

Also, the same reports indicated that the Galaxy C5 Pro, Galaxy C7, and Galaxy C7 Pro will also join the Oreo beta testing program this July, but this was reportedly limited to the Chinese market. Still, we expect the trio, probably alongside the standard Galaxy C5, to join the C9 Pro in receiving the stable version somewhere in August 2018 or thereafter.
