Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy J5 (2016) gets January security update, build G850KKTU2CQA2 and J510FNXXU2AQA5

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy J5 (2016) units are receiving a software update with the latest January security patch. The update is currently on the roll as we speak.

The software version of the update for Samsung Galaxy Alpha is G850KKTU2CQA2 while the version J510FNXXU2AQA5 is hitting Galaxy J5 units.

The update is over the air and should hit your devices anytime now, in case if you haven’t received it yet.

Early in the day, we reported about Samsung rolling out the January security patch for a couple of other devices as well. The Galaxy A5 (2015) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are also getting the monthly update which arrives build number A500F1U1CQA1 and A710LKLU1BQA4 respectively.
