Samsung seems to have officially announced a new phablet for the Asian markets, and the same is said to be stocked by some of the Chinese retailers. This new device is called Galaxy A8 and its first set of photos and specifications have been revealed by a renowned French website.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 with the model number SM-A8000 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and it is a 4G LTE device. The handset flaunts a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD 1080p resolution. It seems to be powered by a Snapdragon S615 processor backed by 2 GB of RAM for multitasking.
The Galaxy A8 is said to have a 16 MP main snapper at its back and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter for video calling. The home button of the device houses a fingerprint reader. The other technical aspects include expandable storage space up to 16 GB via a micro SD card slot and a 3,050 mAh battery.
As per the report, the Galaxy A8 carries a thickness of 5.9 mm and weighs in at 140 grams. It features a metal frame around its body. The release date and price of the Galaxy A8 remain unknown.
