Samsung unveiled its flagship Galaxy S10 lineup for the year a few days ago at the company’s Unpacked event in San Francisco and now the South Korean Giant has shown off their new mid-range devices which are the Galaxy A50 and the Galaxy A30 at MWC.
The Galaxy A50 and A30 aim to take on other mid-range offerings from manufacturers such as Xiaomi. Both devices come with the new Infinity-U display which is a fancy Samsung name for the teardrop-like notch on the front of the display to house the selfie camera.
Both devices feature 6.4-inch Super AMOLED displays and look identical on the from the front; however, the Galaxy A50 comes with three rear cameras while the Galaxy A30 makes do with dual rear cameras.
The triple-rear camera setup on the Galaxy A50 features a 25MP, f/1.7 primary sensor. a 5MP, f/2.2, fixed focus depth sensor, and an 8MP, f/2.4 ultra wide, fixed focus sensor.
The Galaxy A30 dual-rear camera setup consists of a 16MP, f/1.7 primary sensor coupled with a 5MP f/2.2, ultra wide sensor. Both devices also share the same 4,000 mAh battery capacity with 15W Fast Charging support.
The Galaxy A30 comes with the Exynos 7904 with 3GB/4GB RAM options while the Galaxy A50 packs in the Exynos 9610 with 4GB/6GB RAM options for slightly better performance.
Samsung has also packed in an optical in-display fingerprint scanner with the Galaxy A50 which shouldn’t be confused with the ultra-sonic fingerprint scanner on the latest Galaxy S10. The Galaxy A30 makes do with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The company hasn’t yet revealed the pricing and availability details of both devices; however, we do expect the devices to be available in a couple of months.
