Samsung Connect Home and its Icon filed for trademark

It is not only the smartphone segment Samsung is looking to dominate. The Korean giant has its eyes set on other technologies as well. One such product is Samsung Connect Home, which emerges as a strong competitor to Google WiFi, showcased on March 29th. Now, a trademark filing for Connect Home and its Icon has been spotted online.

Samsung has filed a trademark application for Connect Home and its Icon in European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) which is still under consideration.

With Connect Home being a ‘premium router and IoT hub in one’, Samsung aims to give Google WiFi a tough competition. Samsung Connect Home will be sold in a three-pack or on its own. There are two versions of it — Samsung Connect Home and Samsung Connect Home Pro.

Both the versions of Connect Home come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The Pro offers 1,500-square feet coverage. And most importantly, both will come with support for Bixby, Samsung’s latest AI voice assistant, which means you’ll be able to control everything connected to your Samsung Connect Home with your voice.
