The iris recognition technology has become the recent trend with devices such as Vivo X5 Pro and Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G. Back in the last year, this technology was rumored to be equipped in the then flagship smartphones Galaxy S5 and LG G3.
Though the rumors did not turn to fruition in the last year, they seem to have been rekindled and the industry sources suggest that both the leading South Korean manufacturers will bring the iris recognition feature to their devices. The rumors have gone a step beyond and suggest that we can see this feature in the 2016 lineup.
These details are yet to be officially confirmed, but there is an increased possibility for them to be true as Fujitsu made headlines for employing this new technology. Samsung and LG have to be updated to the trend to make them relevant on the dynamic mobile market. If the iris recognition technology is the next one to create a stir in the tech industry, both the firms will have to hurry up.
As of now, there are not many details regarding the usability and practicality of the iris recognition feature. Security could be one reason, but it is not sure if the new sensor can protect the users’ privacy in a better way than the fingerprint readers. Whatever it is, innovations are accepted in the tech industry.
