A new rumor out of China — from a very trusted source with proven history with successful big leaks — reveals that Qualcomm plans to integrate its next big thing in charging, the Quick Charge 4.0, into its Snapdragon 830 chipset. The said Quick Charge 4.0 will include the INOV tech (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage), too, it being reported.
If Qualcomm is able to do that, we think Samsung would match it up to with Exynos 8895 chipset, that would be based on the 10nm production tech that the Snapdragon 830 would. The SD830 chipset is expected to power the next year’s flagships: Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC 11, Sony Xperia X2, LG G6, Motorola Moto Z2, etc.
While we’re talking processors, let us recall it for you that yesterday we shared some juicy details about the processor that could power the Samsung Galaxy S9 in 2018, the Exynos9 chipset.
With the Quick Charge 4.0, charging power will be upped to 28W, while it’s 18W with the current Qualcomm QC 3.0 tech. However, Huawei is still able to do charging with 22.5W power, while Oppo’s quick charge tops at 20W, but these both are current gen tech like QC 3.0.
