The Xperia Play android phone is now a friend to your favorite root apps like titaniun backup, super manager, my backup, etc as the Play just got the root method released for it by Bin4ry – the same developer at XDA who released the root for Play’s brother, Xperia Arc. Rooting your Xperia Play is risky and may damage your device apart from voiding the phone’s warranty. But as always, if you’ve used a rooted device for once, and obviously are quite hooked to root requiring apps for enhanced functionality and theming, you simple can’t overlook it — it’s almost impossible to not root you device when it’s available, that’s what I personally think. To root Xperia Play, you first need to unlock the phone’s bootloader, follow the procedure given below:
QUOTED 1. Unlock Bootloader Stick to lollylost100’s Tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show….php?t=1034087 2. Download my package: R800i WORLD .184: http://www.multiupload.com/U9Z2YJ2FAJ Open a Terminal (on windows Start->Run->cmd) Now copy the downloaded package to the location of fastboot you used for unlocking. Enter this command: fastboot flash system YOURDOWNLOADEDFILE.img Now wait until its done. 3. REBOOT & ENJOY Thanks zdzihu for brainstorming with me 😀 Regards Bin4ry
Many thanks to the XDA developer Bin4ry.
