October 14, 2019: An update has started rolling out for Verizon and US unlocked Razer Phone 2. The OTA weighs in at 549 MB and brings a host of improvements. Apart from the September 2019 security patch, it improves camera and Wi-Fi stability; adds Family Link support, updates GMS apps, and fixes known bugs.

September 30, 2019: AT&T has started rolling out an update for the Razer Phone 2. Carrying software version P-RZR-ATT-RLS008, the OTA brings the September 2019 security patch.

July 25, 2019: The first update post-Android Pie has started rolling out for AT&T Razer Phone 2. Dubbed as P-RZR-ATT-RLS007, it brings the July 2019 security patch.

July 19, 2019: Almost 5 months after the global Razer Phone 2 got the Android 9 Pie update, AT&T has started rolling out Pie for the Razer flagship. Carrying software version P-RZR-ATT-RLS006, the OTA introduces all of Android Pie’s goodness, such as Adaptive Battery, Digital Wellbeing, gesture navigation, and more.

March 15, 2019: The pre-installed Razer Chroma app is getting an update that adds another preset to the three available. Dubbed Wave, the new preset is part of Chroma app version 2.5.199, which is available in the Play Store. The overall firmware update has also been updated to version P-MR1-RC003-RZR-190305.3110.

February 27, 2019: As promised, the Razer Phone 2 is now receiving an update to Android 9 Pie. The update arrives carrying build number P-MR0-RC014-RZR-190220.3040 and further installs the latest February 2019 security patch and a myriad of other features, as listed below.

  • Adaptive battery
  • Gesture navigation
  • Notification management
  • Digital Wellbeing
  • Support for 720p/1080p/4K at 60fps video recording

Of course, the usual bug fixes and general system-wide performance improvements are part of the update.

February 20, 2019: Razer Phone 2 will be updated to Android 9 Pie in the coming week, the company has revealed. With software updates release timelines, its easier said than done, but we’d like to believe Razer will come through and release Pie on February 27th as promised, but this will only affect the unlocked models.
