Qualcomm confirms Snapdragon 835 processor will be powering the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

The successor to last year’s Mi Mix, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is scheduled to launch on September 11.

Since the launch date is coming closer, the leaks are increasing. Recently a leak suggested that Mi Mix 2 could feature the unannounced Snapdragon 836 processor. However, Qualcomm via its Weibo page has confirmed that Snapdragon 835 and not 836 processor will power the smartphone. Well, this puts all the rumors about processor to rest.

Now, until the device is launched officially or till someone else confirms other specifications we would have to do with leaks and rumors. So, the recent rumor suggests that Mi Mix 2 will sport a 6.4-inch dual curved AMOLED 2K display with a body-screen ratio greater than 91.3 percent and an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The device will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with MIUI 9 skin on top and will come in two variants of 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. It will come with a dual camera setup at back.

One interesting feature that Mi Mix 2 could sport is the under the display fingerprint sensor. Will it be the first device to achieve that feat?  Let’s hope for the best.
