Samsung is set to release a bunch of new accessories alongside the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus next week. One of the most important accessories will be called the DeX Station. This smart dock would convert the Galaxy S8 into a super phone.
The DeX Station will feature a USB Type-C port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an Ethernet port. Basically, you can connect a mouse, keyboard and monitor to the dock and get a desktop experience. The Galaxy S8’s 4K resolution display can be extended to a 4K monitor via the USB Type-C port. The dock will also act as a wireless charger.
According to the report, the DeX Station will retail for 149 Euro. Apart from that, Samsung is also said to announce a standard Wireless charger, Battery pack, and several new cases. The Wireless charger would be priced at 80 Euro and the 5100mAh battery pack would cost 70 Euros.
A new Alacantra cover will be announced and the Clearview Standing case that was announced for the Note 7, will now be sold for the Galaxy S8 as well. The Clearview Standing cover for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is said to cost about 60 Euros, while the Alcantara Cover will cost 45 Euros and it will also feature an NFC chip.
The smartphones would also get Silicone and Clear cases for 30 and 20 euros, respectively. Official protective films from Samsung would cost around 12 euro. And that’s about all the Galaxy S8 accessories that the company should announce at the Unpacked event next week.
