Ouch. Not exactly the news we were hoping for, but its news nonetheless. According to a company press release, the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 will go on sale in Hong Kong on August 16 at a price of HKD 4,998 (roughly $644) for the 3G variant, with the Wi-Fi variant to come later this month, along with an LTE variant that will be “available soon”.

Though with the hardware the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be toting, a $650 price doesn’t sound too high and puts it around the same price as the One X and the Galaxy S3 but with a bigger screen and a full tablet experience. We’ve already seen the Galaxy Note 10.1 in action in videos leaked earlier and we were nothing short of impressed. The specs of the device will include a quad-core Exynos 4 Quad processor, 2 GB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and a 1.9 front facing camera, 16 GB of internal storage, a 7000 mAh battery, Android 4.0.4 out of the box, and also Samsung’s S Pen stylus for creative stuff like writing and drawing.

Global release of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is pegged for later this month. Looking forward to getting your hands on one? Do let us know.
