Pokemon Go releases in Korea

The wildly popular mobile game, Pokemon GO, has been released in Korea. Niantic, the game’s developer, held a press conference in Sogong-dong, Seoul, to launch the game in the country. It’s been over 6 months since the game was released in the U.S and other regions.

The company’s previous game, Ingress, was also launched in Korea previously and the South Korean designer for Niantic, Dennis Hwang, stated that he’d been playing for a very long time. According to him, the game has seen over 600 million downloads so far and users have walked over 8.7 billion kilometers.

When Niantic and the Pokemon Company first introduced the game in July of 2016, the response from the public was insane. The game brought a lot of profit to the company, but within a few months, the public lost interest. The usage went down and the company had to come up with new ways to keep the users engaged.

Niantic has updated the Pokemon GO game several times and included new Pokemon, new achievements, new rewards, and a lot more to keep the users engaged. The game is also available on the Apple Watch. If you’re in Korea, you can now download the game from the App Store or the Google Play Store. Catch ’em all!
