Earlier this month, OnePlus announced that it will rollout the OxygenOS ROM based on Android 5.0 Lollipop to the users of the One smartphone on March 27. But, it appears like the users of the device will have to wait for a few more days to receive the update.
As per a Reddit posting by the firm’s representative, OnePlus will be giving away five units of the 64 GB variants of the smartphone for free to its fans who have been waiting for the update. This eventually tips that the update has been delayed.
The delay is claimed to have been caused due to the certification process. Both the OxygenOS and CyanogenMod 12S ROMs based on Android Lollipop are said to be waiting to get this process done. The latter’s delay was announced by Cyanogen officially and it confirmed that it will be rolled out to the smartphones on Monday.
Basically, these ROMs are waiting for an approval by Google to receive the Google Play Series installed in them. We hope that the OnePlus One users receive the updates by the next week without any delay.
