Close to two months ago, OnePlus 5 and 5T received open beta update versions 13 and 11 that came with a hidden gem – support for Project Treble. Since Treble makes updates much easier for developers, it was quite a big deal for OnePlus to make this perk available for the two phones.
Now, in the latest OxygenOS 5.1.5 update, those outside the beta program can now speak the same language as Treble support is now available on OnePlus 5 and 5T. Also, this update adds the ability to confirm PIN without the need of checking the box, a feature that’s hidden under Settings > Security & Lockscreen > Screen lock > PIN.
As part of OxygenOS 5.1.5, your device’s security patch level will also be upgraded to August 2018. The update is rolling out as we speak and like other OTA updates, this one is staggered. Download links are yet to be published, but you can grab the Oxygen Updater app in the Play Store and do a manual update.
The update is really heavy weighing in at about 1.7GB, so make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection before downloading it.
