The OnePlus 3 and 3T are getting a new software update right now. The software is being delivered over-the-air, and is an incremental update. The OxygenOS 4.5.1 update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and includes general bug fixes and stability improvements.
There doesn’t seem to be anything new in this update, which means that this is just a general update. The OnePlus 5 also received a similar minor update last week. Some users may start receiving this update today, while others may get it after a few days.
Those who have already received the update have noticed improvement in battery life and less data mining. If you have received the update, do let us know the changes and improvements.

OnePlus had recently released the Android 8.0 Oreo open beta build for the OnePlus 3 and 3T, which surprised several users. The company hasn’t even released a beta build for the OnePlus 5, which happens to be their latest flagship device.
The OnePlus 3 received the Open Beta build 25, whereas the OnePlus 3T got open beta build 16, both based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The build includes new Android Oreo features such as Picture-in-Picture, Auto-fill, Smart text selection, Notification Dots in Launcher, and the latest September security patch. The update also includes design changes in Quick Settings.

If you want to try out the Oreo open beta build on your OnePlus 3/3T, then follow our step-by-step guide and install it on your device. We must, however, remind you that since this is an alpha build, you will come across bugs and issues.
Not many OEMs have released Oreo updates for their flagship devices, so OnePlus is certainly doing a real good job with software updates. We are still waiting on the Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 though, which should be available soon as well. Until then, you will have to enjoy the beta build on the older OnePlus 3/3T devices.
