The previous reports regarding the second generation OnePlus flagship smartphone have painted a picture that the device allegedly called OnePlus Two will be going official in the third quarter of this year. However, it seems to be delayed as per the latest information from China.
One of the main reasons for the delay in the OnePlus Two smartphone could be due to the increased popularity of the OnePlus One even after a year of its launch. The OnePlus CEO has posted on Weibo that he believes that the One smartphone can be popular even in the second half of this year.
If the delay of the OnePlus Two is authentic, the smartphone will not arrive with the expected Snapdragon 810 processor as it was mentioned earlier. There are increased chances for the firm to use an unannounced next generation chipset from Qualcomm. It is also possible for the firm to opt in for competing chipsets such as the ones from Intel or MediaTek for its second generation flagship device.
If the delay persists till early next year, the OnePlus Two might be launched sometime closer to the launch of it challengers such as Xiaomi Mi 5 and Meizu MX5.
