The much talked about OnePlus One which was launched in India in December on an invitation only basis goes on sale tomorrow free-for-all. According to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer which has claimed fame in spite of being founded only in 2013, the OnePlus One sale will begin at 10 am on Tuesday and will last for 24 hours and the device may be purchased during this duration via Amazon India.
No changes have been made to its price tag and it retains its original cost of INR 21,999.
One look at the Specs makes it easy to see the reasons behind OnePlus One’s massive popularity. The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU. It has 3GB of RAM and is available in both 16GB and 64GB variants. The device has a 3100 mAh powerhouse which according to the company “can easily see it through a whole day”. For the Camera freaks, there is a 13MP main camera with dual-LED flash and a 5MP front snapper. It currently operates on the CyanogenMod OS 11 though it is expected to receive a update to the company’s own Android Lollipop based Oxygen scheduled for release on the 12th.
Incidentally, the launch coincides with that of Xiaomi’s Mi 4 which also goes on sale this Tuesday. Since both these phones provide similar features at close price ranges, it will be interesting to see which of them manages to woo more consumers.
