Just two days back we posted a news revealing OnePlus’ plan to launch its flagship phone OnePlus 5 this summer. This news gets another confirmation, this time official, putting a stamp on the summer release of OnePlus 5.
The Chinese company has given us a tease about its plan to release the flagship phone soon. Coming from its Weibo handle, OnePlus has teased the words ‘Hello 5’ on the microblogging site with the caption ‘Hey Summer! Give me five!’.

Now, the OnePlus 5 moniker is no where in sight, but the tease requires a no brainer to guess that the company is hinting at the summer release of the fourth gen OnePlus phone, although named as OnePlus 5. Why so? Well, because the number ‘4’ is considered unlucky by the Chinese and as such, although successor to OnePlus 3, the phone will be called OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4.
The main spec of the phone which has been garnering all the attention is the dual camera set up. Now, there’s a bit of confusion here. While past leaks talk about the rear of OnePlus 5 sporting two cameras, a recent design sketch suggests selfie dual cameras. Now as Oppo is the parent company of OnePlus which again is a subsidiary of BBK Electronics, which also owns Vivo, it will hardly come as surprise if the upcoming OnePlus rocks dual selfie cameras.

Other rumored features of the OnePlus 5 include a 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz, 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage, 3600 mAh battery with Dash Charge support and Android 7.1.1. OS. There could be another variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
