OnePlus 7 Pro made headlines when it became the first mainstream smartphone with a display screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, breaking the 60Hz barrier that most flagship phones support.
While this type of screen promises smooth scrolling and fluid animations when interacting with the display, it also requires that app developers optimize their apps to match this standard, otherwise, you’ll still have to deal with apps optimized to work on 60Hz screens.
On the brighter side, you can still force 90Hz refresh rate on all installed apps and games on your OnePlus 7 Pro, but of course, this is probably not a good idea, especially since you might eventually have to perform a full factory reset on your phone to get things going.
Also, this isn’t a straightforward process, rather, it involves rooting and related stuff, so be sure you are into this. If interested, check out this XDA thread for the help you need to turn those 60Hz apps and games into their 90Hz clones.
