It had been leaked that OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be unveiled on May 14th. The company has now made this official, confirming that the devices to take you beyond speed will be unveiled about three weeks from now.

Now that we know the launch date, the only other missing core detail is the pricing. After all, a lot about the design and specs is already out here, but of course, most of it is based on rumors, unlike the latest news about OnePlus 7 Pro display screen.

Yes, this info comes from CEO Pete Lau, who was speaking to The Verge about the upcoming device. Apparently, the QHD+ Super AMOLED display screen expected on OnePlus 7 Pro will be super smooth and very crisp as the company aims to redefine what exactly it means to be fast and smooth.

To aid in this, the screen is said to support 90Hz refresh rate, meaning it can refresh 90 times per second, which is a significant jump from the typical 60Hz found on most of your favorite smartphones.

To this end, Lau says OnePlus had to spend up to three times the typical amount of money spent on other flagship display screens in order to put together the panel on the OnePlus 7 Pro. This is a bold claim to make and honestly, it will be interesting to see how the price stacks up against these other flagships.

In the same interview, Lau also confirmed that OnePlus 7 will get a 5G variant, but it is still unclear whether the Pro variant will be the one to carry 5G capabilities or if this will be the third variant.
