OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 9.5.8 update for the OnePlus 7, bringing the August security patch and a bunch of system optimizations.

The Chinese OEM has a reputation for pushing out timely updates, and the fact that the company took only a couple of days to release the August security patch goes on to show how well-earned that is.

Apart from updating the device’s security patch to August 2019, the update optimizes adaptive brightness, prevents accidental touches while calling, and improves overall system stability by fixing general bugs.

Here’s the complete changelog of OxygenOS 9.5.8 update for OnePlus 7:

System

  • Optimized Adaptive Brightness
  • Fixed the issue with quick settings menu dropping down due to accidental touches, while on a call
  • Updated GMS to 2019.06
  • Updated Android security patch to 2019.08
  • General bug fixes and improvements

The 9.5.8 update OTA update weighs in at about 303MB.

OnePlus recently released an identical update for the OnePlus 7 Pro, delivering the August security patch even before the Google Pixel devices. The company also released an updated version of their Android 10 beta software in the form of DP4 update yesterday, as it continues to prepare the Android Q update for its users.
