This is pretty amazing ─ the developers over at Sony Ericsson (the official developers) have posted an alpha build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for a few Xperia family devices on the SE developer blog for advanced users to test and give feedback.

The alpha ROM is available for download for the below mentioned Xperia family devices:

  • Xperia Arc s
  • Xperia Neo V
  • Xperia Ray

The Xperia Arc and Neo aren’t supported as of now.. the official SE developers said that “you can’t use the original Xperia™ arc or Xperia™ neo, as they have different partition layouts”.

This alpha build may not prove to be a daily driver for you, as many features have been cut out (like you can’t make phone calls) so make sure you take a complete backup of your important data before flashing.
