If you thought android helping users hack their PS3 would spoil the relation between the two lovely techs, we got something that will definitely sow friendship beans between them.
Well, Sony’s bringing an official playstation app on android (and iPhone too) that will let the PS-cum-droid fanboys:
- Check out your PlayStation Network trophies and keep up to date with your friends’ games and online status.
- Discover all the latest games, news and hardware for your PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2.
- Read all the announcements on the European PlayStation.Blog.
- Share your favourite products or news with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.
So, it’s basically meant for PlayStation gamers to share news and stuff. If you were expecting it to play PS game titles on your android phone we know how much disappointed you are, so are we. But hey, if you really wanna play the best of PS titles on android, the best thing would be to buy the Sony Zeus Z1, as and when it launches. It does have a dedicated ‘PlayStation Games’ app, all for gaming!
The official PS app will be launched first in European countries: UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands. Expect it follow elsewhere too, once the playstation dev team figure out support for other countries and languages.
Oh, by the way, the app’s free. There is nothing here worth enough to cost you a penny, anyway!
