Nougat update for Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2016 set for release in May, enters testing

Owners of the the 2016 Galaxy A3 (SM-A310F), Galaxy A5 (SM-A510F) and Galaxy A7 (SM-A710F) are in for some disappointing news, well, kind of. Samsung just updated the Nougat release roadmap for Turkey again, and it looks like the 2016 Galaxy A series devices will be getting Nougat a month and half later in mid May.

The Galaxy A3 2016, which was scheduled to receive the Nougat OTA on 24th April has its update delayed the farthest to the first week of May. We were pretty optimistic about the A3 2016 receiving Nougat by April as the device was spotted on Geekbench running Android 7.1.1 Nougat about a month back.

As for the Galaxy A5 2016 and A7 2016, Nougat update is pushed by only about a weeks time from 22nd May to a tentative date between 22nd and 28th May. Updates for all three devices are currently under testing at Samsung.

Last week, we saw the Galaxy A5 2016 and A7 2016 receive their Marshmallow based March security patch updates. So, we’re guessing there won’t be any more delays after this.
