Looking back a few years ago, Nokia smartphones had one of the best cameras such as the Nokia 808 PureView which was way ahead of the game.
It seems HMD Global is set to bring back the competition for the best camera smartphone with the launch of the Nokia 9 PureView at MWC. The new device from Nokia comes with not three, not four, but 5 rear cameras — which is just insane.
Fortunately, there’s no hideous camera bump and the Nokia 9 PureView isn’t a thick phone by any means. The Finnish company HMD Global didn’t give us a release date for the U.S. earlier when it unveiled the device, but we have one now.
The company has now finalized the launch date of the Nokia 9 Pureview in the U.S. for March 3.
The Nokia 9 PureView also has Android Pie on board and is part of the Android One programme which means the device would receive at least 2 major Android updates and three years of security updates. What’s even better is the fact that given Nokia track record on updates, the updates should be arriving sooner than later, whether it’s a big one like Android Q or monthly security patches.
What’s even better is the fact that the Nokia 9 PureView would be on sale with a $100 promotional price cut which means the device would be up for grabs in the US for just $600 which is absolutely fantastic. But to avail the $100 launch discount, you will have to act quickly as it will lapse on March 10., after which the regular price of $700 will be restored.
The device would be available at Best Buy (in stores and online), Amazon and B&H. At the $600 price tag, there are only a few worthy competitors to the Nokia 9 PureView.
